  1. UK.AmigaSoc.org announces new Website

  3. A new UK based Amiga Web site, http://UK.AmigaSoc.org, will be launched on
  4. 1st September 1997.
  5. AmigaSoc aims to provide a UK Centre for users and developers to join
  6. together. The aim of this union is to provide a starting point for
  7. developers to work together in order to avoid replication of effort, to
  8. provide the products that users really want, and most importantly to
  9. re-establish the Amiga's foothold in the computer industry. We are pleased
  10. to be affiliated to The Jay Miner Society for the advancement of Personal
  11. Computing in our efforts to achieve these goals. 
  12. AmigaSoc is a non profit organistaion.
  13. Initially the web site will carry articles about the Amiga and reviews of
  14. popular software titles. A helpdesk will also be provided where you can
  15. email our panel of experts with any Amiga problems you may have. Our
  16. future plans include a searchable web based index of UK based develpers
  17. and retailers, forums for advertising Amiga Hardware/Software for
  18. sale and Amiga related discussions. The lighter side of the Amiga will
  19. also be covered in a Games Zone.
  20. As well as Web based activities AmigaSoc (UK) is also activly seeking
  21. other ways to promote and support the use of the Amiga such as last years
  22. Developers Conference at the World Of Amiga Show, London.
  23. AmigaSoc was formed from the Queen Mary and Westfield College, Amiga
  24. Society, with which we still maintain strong links.
